Hippity Hop

Easter is on its way!

It has been quite a while since the last post! This post is for my friend who wants me to pin a sign I made, but I can't pin it without posting. (:

I saw a sign here and wanted to make it my own. So here is my version of this cute idea!

I used beadboard and changed the shape a little. I cut the vinyl with my Cricut using the Opposites Attract cartridge. Using the "upright" option for the cursive. Both the block and cursive are on same cartridge.

For the banner I used paper because I had more prints and options available. I just cut them out with scissors. No special trick here, just make one and use it as a template for the others. You could also do triangle banners. For the holes I used my punch that I have for doing eyelets, but you could use a small whole punch. Then I threaded embroidery floss through the wholes and attached it on the back with tacky glue. Holding it with tape until it dried.

I love it! Hope you do too!

Happy Easter!

Firecrackers

ignore the dust (:
Last year I made these fireworks. I used a wrapping paper roll because the cardboard was pretty thick. I used mod podge to adhere the paper then embellished with wire, ribbon, and embossed stars. They are a fun addition to our 4th decorations.

Name Board

My mom had this board that was used as our Family Home Evening Board for many years. I thought the shape was really great and wanted to make something new for her.

My mom really likes country blue so I painted and then distressed and stained it.

Next came the lettering. I used the Storybook cartridge for Borgersen and the swirl. The cursive was the Jasmin cartridge. The numbers were alphaliscious b/c I thought they were cuter than the plain print.
To apply the vinyl I took off the negative vinyl and then used clear contact paper as transfer paper. It worked really well and is less expensive than transfer paper. I used the card to be sure it stuck evenly to the contact paper and then to the board.
I L.O.V.E. how it turned out!

I have been looking for a runner! Now I just need to find some rugs.
I love the turquoise with the polka dots.

Home Decor Ideas

One day when we buy a home I won't know what I want to do with it because I'll have too many ideas! I saw both these via U create and loved them.

For Mom

So I wanted to make a special card for Mothers Day this year. When I saw these brag books at eighteen25(fun blog!) I thought they were perfect.
~
I didn't quite make it as much of a brag book as a super personalized card for them. I hope my mom and mother-in-law love them.
~
I made the smaller one 4 by 24 inches with 6 folds every 4 inches. And the larger 5 by 20 inches with 4 folds every 5 inches. I used the Serenade and Storybook cartridges for all the cutouts. I am loving these cartridges! The birds and branches are just too cute. I used my embossing powder to add all the black touches. I sanded the paper and used distressing ink as well.

Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms out there!

hooks

I only have one child in school, but we already have the backpack problem. I am hoping(I won't hold my breath) that with a place to hang the backpacks it will get better. At least I will have a place to put them.
I found these hooks at JoAnns and after my coupon it was about $5. The rest was pretty simple. I took off the hardware, painted it, distressed it, put the hardware back on, then added the vinyl branch and birds. I cut the vinyl with my Cricut using the Serenade Cartridge.
It makes me happy.
